A nice dupatta just adds to the beauty of any wedding dress. Whether it’s your own wedding or you have to attend wedding of someone close, carrying that dupatta elegantly over your heavy lehnga or gown can be a really tricky business. We have collected some of the creative ways in which you can style you dupatta no matter how heavy or light it is, with these styles you are bound to rock your whole attire.
ONE SIDED DOUBLE PALLU –
This look requires two dupattas, one you wear it on your head, it’s usually the lighter one. The other is draped on one side. You will be holding both the pallu the same side as your second dupatta – hence giving it the name double palu. It’s your choice if you want to carry the other pallu of the first dupatta on your other side or not.
MUGLIAYI DRAPE –
The dupatta is nicely secured in a way that it goes around the front of the body to the back and then one end is hung on one arm. The othe end is secured to the back and left loose. This style is ideal if you have a really long dupatta.
ONE SIDE PLEATS –
This is a neat carefree look in which the whole dupatta is pleated to a desirable width and pined on either left or right shoulder. The remaining of the dupatta is wrapped around the arm of the same shoulder. It is ideal for banarsi cloth or any other thick cloth used as a dupatta.
BELTED LOOK –
This chic look needs nothing else but a fancy patti to be used as a belt. The dupatta is secured with the body through this belt. This look is perfect if you have to do a lot of movement as it will prevent the dupatta from coming in your way.
FALLING FALLS LOOK –
You can create the falls as shown in the picture and let them hang either at the front or to the side of your lehenga. It’s all about if you want to tuck in the end of your dupatta on the side or at the back. The second pallu is left loose hanging from the head on the back of your body.
THE MISTRESS –
This gives your look a cooperate touch. the dupatta is nicely folded and thrown on the shoulder, it is then brought from the back to the other side and hung on the arm. It looks really classy and sophisticated.
SHORT-CUT SAARI –
This look has been trending a lot lately. If you want to wear a saari but dont have the appropriate one, you can always make saree out of your favourite lehnga. That’s right! Just drape the dupatta as shown in the picture and you are good to go!
ELEGANTLY EMBRACED –
Best for someone who wants to perfectly cover their head without wearing a hijab separately. You just need to have a dupatta long enough and lots of pins. Secure the dupatta on one shoulder then bring the dupatta all over your head and secure the end on the same shoulder.
INDIAN GUJARATI STYLE –
This Gujarati Indian style is fun to carry and looks amazing! If you want to go for something traditional but different, you should definitely opt for this one. r you can use two dupattas – one over the head and the other to drape like a saree.
CRISS-CROSS –
Both the dupattas are of eual lenghth, but are copletely different from each other in color, design and texture. Each of these dupattas is drapped diagonally across the back from shoulder to the wrist of the opposite arm. Hence, creating a criss – cross look.
RICH AND BOLD –
It can be clearly seen that two dupattas are being used and they both are pretty heavy and of the exact same color as the outfit. The first one is diagonally draped across the front from left shoylder to right arm and then secured around the wrist. The second one is caually drapped on the head and is allowed to hang on one side.
OVERTHE SOLID BASE –
The bride has her dupatta draped over her head and pinned around her wrists. The there is another dupatta around her wrists draped around her back and then around the wrists again. The lower dupatta is adding base to the upper one giving it a compact look.
Have fun styling!
