Here are the oddest yet fun rasms you will only get to see in a Pakistani Shadi.
1. Joota Chupaii
What can be the logic behind hiding your brother in law’s shoes? But who cares, forget the logic when you are getting a good amount of money in return. Saaliyan taking pure advantage of it are seen hiding the ‘’Jiju’s’’ jootay and when they return them he pays, wow!
2. Doodh Pilaii
This sounds gross but yet it is a fun rasm that is still followed by many of us, when bride and groom sip milk from the same glass, usually this rasm is performed on the shadi day when the couple is nikkah-fied, this definitely shows how strong their bond is going to be, clapping!
3. Darwaza Rokaii
Okay so after a lot of struggle, hard work and sitting back to back for 5 to 6 hours on stage, the newly wedded couple goes through this totally other worldly process of being stopped at the room door by the sisters and brothers of the groom, yes demanding for money again. I mean why? I think that is why the concept of saying ‘’chalo bhaag chalein’’ is getting too famous these days.
4. Ungli Pakraii
So another oddest yet fun rasm you will get to see in a Pakistani Shadi is the rasm of ‘ungli pakraii’, this rasm is performed usually on the mehndi day when the groom is confused himself, he has no idea of what’s going on and how to react sitting there, suddenly he encounters bunch of Saaliyan coming towards him, smiling and settling themselves on stage holding their jiju’s ungli and YESSS demanding money again, fantastic! Ever wonder what can be the history behind it? Wait, I don’t even want to go there.
5. Kheer Chataii
Well it is a bit similar to the doodh pilaii rasm, the odds are now you will be sharing a bowl of kheer with your dulha, licking that kheer off using the same spoon and acting that you loved doing that, trust me it seems gross at times.
In some places the rasm goes the other way round, 2 rings are dipped in a big thaal of kheer and the newly wedded couple has to find their ring in it by fighting in the kheer batter, whoever takes it out first wins, I think eating with the same spoon is better than this.
